I am mindful that we will probably see more downloads of the book and fewer subscribers to the video series.
It's inevitable!
So to reward our faithful subscribers there will be hidden bonus videos.
The way I am planning this is by added it on at the end another video.
A bit like Hollywood where a bonus scene comes on in the middle of the credits.
So if you see an unusually long video, it quite possibly has a bonus video in it.
We are shoot two series, metric and imperial.
I must confess I have fallen behind on the metric one, it's been shot up to the waistcoat. But rest assured it will follow soon after the imperial version.
Metric takes me longer as I don't use this unit of measure. I would say the same thing my old master said to me "they're only numbers". But I should admit, I haven't found the change easy.
I suppose the main difference is the L-square, as a calculator for inches, it has no use in metric and I am realising that all the calculations can be done on a calculator.
The one thing I do accept is that many would wish for a metric version of all the videos, particularly those at college or living in Europe.
Savile Row is still predominantly imperial, as is the US and China. After twenty years in the trade it has become my go to but I must also be flexible for others too.
Has this launched yet? I've been eagerly checking and can't locate the links.
We are inching closer to a new video series. The amount of work that goes into one series is ridiculous. Desiree is flat out editing the video I shoot daily.
David Richards has taken on editing two books, one metric and one Imperial.
I have to shoot each video at least twice but really it's 3 or 4 false starts and start again.
There are times when I feel so frustrated at the lack of progress and then David sends me the latest edit of the book and I feel inspired to get going again.
Not sure what the final number will be but it's at least 30 videos in each series.
We have set it up so the book is linked to the video series. It is purposely vague, you need the videos to understand the book and you need the book to follow the series.
I know what you are thinking. "That's just the waistcoat draft, taken from the video series". But if you look closer, you will see its actually in metric!
That's right folks!
We aren't making one video series, we are making two!!
David Richards has jumped into the fray and has taken on the book converting it from Imperial to Metric.
With Jeroen working simultaneously on the imperial version.
Desiree is editing both video series, and I am
in the middle, converting text and shooting videos and learning metric.
There will be two books and two series
A Beginners Guide to.....
Pattern Drafting for Bespoke Menswear, the Imperial System
And
Pattern Drafting for Bespoke Menswear, the Metric System
We could leave Europe out again
Would love to take some courses but I just cant afford it at this time.
I will continue to support you how i can. I appreciate everything you're doing, i've learned a lot already.
Cheers.
