Hi all,
Hopefully this is okay to post but I've made a survey to help find out more from my University Dissertation research.
The survey is to find out about peoples experiences of buying and wearing tailored suits.
I'd really appreciate if you could spare the time to answer it as it would help me understand peoples habits and the sustainability of different types of suits.
If you could also share it with anyone else that may be able to answer that would be great!
Thanks so much and I'm looking forward to reading the responses.

Also forgot to add Norah Waughs cut of men's clothes.
Hi Heather
I've filled it in.
I saw you were asking for research resources on another post. I can highly recommend all of Janet Arnold's Patterns of Fashion books. They'll give you insight into techniques used for doublets (the original forerunners of suits). Couture sewing Techniques by Claire Shaeffer is also a great book for construction and stitches. Dugdale Brothers were doing educational talks i think they have some videos on YouTube which could be really helpful and I just read that LIPA are hoping to do a costume symposium this year which covers a range of garment making which could also be useful. Good luck with your studies, it's been a tough old year.
Hello,
No problem and thank you for you feedback.
Of course, I added an 'other' section for age but as this is quite a crucial question to my research I though the age brackets would suffice.
The survey is anonymous as are all Google Forms as far as I'm aware but I'll mention this.
I was reluctant to add a time estimate as it very much depends on peoples experiences as to how they answer. I've had people give me one word answers which is great or paragraphs in the written sections.
I am studying Ba(Hons) Costume Production at University. In the UK most Undergraduate students write a Dissertation in the last year of their course.
I won't complete the questionnaire because I don't buy and wear men's suits. But here are some suggestions and comments:
--It's always a good idea when asking questions about potentially sensitive issues such as age or income to provide a "Prefer Not To Say" choice. You include one for gender, but not for age.
--I did not understand the difference between Made to Order and Made to Measure as you defined them.
--I don't believe you said the survey is anonymous. If that's the case, you should say so. Many people won't want to answer questions unless they're assured of anonymity.
--At the start, it's a good idea to provide an estimate of the time it will take to complete a survey. Yours was more involved than I was expecting because it requests a number of written answers.

Incidentally, are you getting a Ph.D. or a Bachelor's degree? I'm curious because in the United States, the long paper submitted by students to earn an honors degree in their major is called a "thesis." A "dissertation" is written only by graduate students who have a Bachelor's (B.A., A.B., B.S.) and Master's (M.A., M.S., S.M., M.F.A.) who wish to be awarded a doctorate. It is usually a much longer effort than the undergraduate paper, often book-length. Maybe I misread or misremembered, but I thought you were in college.
