Hello,
I'm starting a trousers project and have a questions about waistbands.
I have a pair from Brook Taverner and they have some type of rubber strip sewn inside the waistband, it grabs the shirt and helps to keep the trousers up and shirt in. I just can't find that thing anywhere, probably looking for the wrong item.
Does anyone knows what that is and where to find it?
Thanks,
thank you guys
Bias Bespoke sells a couple of items which might be appropriate. One example below.

This one is elastic, but you can sew it into a fixed non-elastic waistband just the same.
I actually bought a roll of this a while back and have only used it once because I didn't really like the result. I wear all trousers with braces so don't actually need them to grip the shirt.
Hope this helps.
PS Petersham needs the lower edge stretching with the iron. Either before sewing or after (using a ham). The 'hat making' stuff is often suitable for waistbands. Vids and books exist covering the method. Not a 'gripper' though. More decorative/for stiffening.
If you search suppliers for waistbanding/waistbands, there are plenty of options.
