A few years back we hosted a Scholarship award with Dugdales and it was won by an international student who came over and joined us on a coat making course.
This year we plan to bring it back in a limited capacity.
This is not the official announcement, just a heads up for what to expect in the new year.
We are planning on launching a Waistcoat making competition with the award being a free one to one online Pattern Drafting course with a copy of the book and a one years free mentorship.
The idea behind the competition is to take many of you off the sidelines and get you making garments and share your progress.
The waistcoat is also an ideal garment to do something like this with as it will level the playing field when it comes to skill and experience.
A launch date hasn’t been set yet but if this is something you would like to get involved in you‘ve got yourself a head start.
The winner will also be given our highest honour of ‘Handcraft Tailor‘ as their badge on the forum.
We have no idea what the standard is going to be like but I am confident it will embolden many of our members to get going and start making some classic menswear garments.
Count me in :) One to one classes and a year's free mentorship is definitely worth some drops of sweat and lost hours of sleep putting together a waistcoat.
Great idea, I just went through the whole waistcoat series and, as usual, it's well done and ease to follow.
Thanks for making the series. Hope to start my soon.
