Hi @Rory Duffy ,
I saw that you added a coat draft on your blog for a 2" drop (thank you for that). Would you be able to also share a waistcoat draft for a 2" drop? I am 5'7", with a 38" chest and 36" waist, and it would be great to be able to hone my waistcoat making skills on waistcoats that I could wear once finished. Thank you.
Rory, thanks very much. The custom pattern/sizing service sounds great; I'd gladly take advantage of it, although it sounds like I may need to study up on how to take measurements properly first; I'll watch the measurements video again...
Hi Andrew, I would suggest that you possibly aren't taking the chest measurement correctly. In the video on measuring it is explained that the chest should be measured low at the front and high over the blades at the back. If taken straight across the chest like the waist the difference can be 2" or more. I would suggest your chest as actually 40" and your waist is 36" meaning a 4" drop. Whatever the case we still need a plus 2" draft. Rather than continuing to post excerpts from the book we are going to be offering a pattern making service at a very affordable rate. Somewhere in the region of £15 per trouser/ waistcoat pattern and £20 for coats. Jeremy who is now working on updating the book and get it ready for publication, believes he can print off patterns in custom sizing. Using the same technology that is used to make the drafts for the book, it can also be used to make custom patterns for anyone using one of the video series. I will be making an official announcement about this service shortly. Best, Rory
