Does anyone know, where I can find a good source for overcoatmaking and shirtmaking. Cant find any source for those 2 topics. There are a lot of books about patternmaking but I cant find anything about the making..
PS, when doing the Burrito method, I take the front pieces out through the neck opening. That way you're only rolling up the back piece. A hell of a lot easier, especially with skinny yokes.
With respect to shirt making, David Page Coffin has a few books that are worth looking at. However, it's a lot easier to learn construction from videos. There are many on youtube. This is a good all-rounder:

That last link doesn't quite work. Click on the channel, then playlists. There's a whole series for making a white shirt. Another for other designs.
I just had a quick look at The Art of Garment Making on the bookstore. It does cover overcoat marking. The techniques found it that book follow closely to how I make my garments.
You can follow the video series to make an overcoat. The making techniques used in The making of a Savile Row coat are the same as an overcoat the difference being that the front edge is straight and its generally a three button and not two.To adjust the pattern for an overcoat add 1" to the armhole depth. 3/4" to the half back, 3/4" to the armhole width. 1/2" from pt19-20 and about 10" to the length.
I have been watching the series from "The caffeinated tailor" on YouTube. He has two videos on shirts, one for drafting the pattern and another one for making the shirt.
Although he does take a few "shortcuts", overall it seems a decent way to make a shirt.

Hiya,

Here's the playlist for his shirt-making tutorial: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPXf7sROHfVs5zEAwe257GoW-pcOKqhrp
Also, Sven Jungclaus has a few books published about pattern drafting (Shirts and coats etc) and making shirts and coats. https://www.becomeatailor.com/english-books/
And last but not least: Have you checked Rory's video series on YT "The making of a coat"? Lots of Info there too ;)
