Good evening. My apologies if this is a silly question, but is the construction of a tuxedo jacket the same as a suit jacket? Could I use the men's coat tutorial and just change the fabric and the peak on the lapels? If so, what kind of fabric would be used traditionally? Thanks.

I think Rory has a couple of web pages with some pics and info about making a Tuxedo jacket on his web site/blog. You can probably find them if you google (if you can't track them down let me know and I'll see if I can find them). Or they might be on this site somewhere...
Also - no flaps on the side pockets. Jets only.
They are very similar, there’s a few small changes the most obvious being the silk lapels. There’s also no vents. Domette is usually placed under the facings. But that would be hard to explain. Traditional Barrathea is used as the cloth.
