Hi all,
As you can see I'm making my first pair of trousers.
Comments appreciated!
The rise is quite high which I think I like. Just from wearing them I know brace-top trousers usually have the waistband split at the back – does this serve a practical purpose? Wondered if it allows for a bit more freedom or something.
Thank you all as always!
Hi Robbie, a great first fitting! Here is my take on the issues you mention. I would try to pin right under the back waistband to clear up the pooling at the knees. Then lowering that amount at the center back waist on the pattern. It also looks like its too thight over the hips as the pockets and fly is gaping a bit. I would try to expand from the side seams as messing around with the seat curve might cause other issues. The length of the fork might have to increase but I would wait for Rory for his opinion before making drastic changes.
My sense is that the back needs "lifting up" (in fact, if I pull up the waistband, it looks better already), but not quite sure how to achieve this (lowering back rise maybe?)
