Hello all,
I've only made a small alteration to the fit so far but wanted to post some more pictures to see if this has helped in any way and then work out what the next fix might be.
I have dropped the front pitch of the sleeves 1/2" towards the back.
Having analysed some other suit jackets the front seam of the sleeve seams to be about 1/2" from the seam running down through the pocket whereas mine is about 1 1/2". However if i move this any further down the back sleeve seam will be sitting too high.
I believe my sleeves should be about 1/2" wider. Would I be able to let them out by this much from the seam that is currently just tacked or will I then have too much ease to fit the sleeve head back into the armhole?
My model mentioned its around the front pitch point section that the sleeve feels the tightest.
I think the undercollar may be causing some of the issues too. Like the tightness and creases at the top back neck. One lapel seems to be laying looser across the chest.
t than the other so this may be from sewing the undercollar on with slightly more length on one side of the neck?
Should I take this off and see how the jacket sits without it?
I still think I need to take in the side seams from the underarm to the waist then let it out from the waist down.
I'm looking forward to hearing and feedback you may have.
Thank you!
Sleeve head is a little too flat so that’s probably adding to the dressing underneath. Take 1/2” off the top of the hind-arm seam and reshape it from the crown through the under-sleeve. Drop the front pitch 1/2”. Narrow the back an inch across and pick up the shoulder points 1/2’” (increase the angle). See how you go from there.
Post photos of the patterns please
