And there we are: The first time I've put it on.
I will not ****** you all with all the details I see and dislike (Loose bastings and irregularities. There's a lot of room for improvement...)
For me, the fit feels quite okay. A bit roomy though.
Right side.
Left side.
And - surprise! - the back side.
My stance is left-leaning at the moment - still massive back issues, causing me to stand and sit in a way that isn't normal, but avoids pain.
As written before: A bit roomy around the waist and shoulders, I'd say. Vents are gaping a bit, which might be caused by my hollow lower back.
Thoughts, anyone?
Hi Jeroen, looking good! Usual disclaimer applies, but I think there looks like there could be too much back balance, as the back looks a little wide at the top and seems to be gathering at the waist.
Going only from my own fitting experiences, which now occupy a rather large space in my life, my tip would be to fix balance issues first, before moving on to waist stuff. The balance alterations can make everything look different, e.g. the waist "moves".
Finally, did you use a back width measurement or use the scale measurement? If the latter, another tip from me would be to *consider* (not necessarily advising it!) a centre back alteration part of your arsenal, provided you take the same from top to bottom. Really depends on how it's looking over the back though, it's so hard to tell from the camera as I well know!
Having slept a night over this, a few things are definitely to be corrected: - Too much space around breast and waist
- Coat front is higher up than the back - Thanks Isaac!
- I suspect the shoulders to be broader than needed. Will have to check later on by the mark stitches and the actual shoulder edge
Anything else I've missed? Also: Hints, tips and tricks?
Like: Taking in waist and breast in baby steps or go for -let's say- an inch and "move backwards" when it's too much?
I am by no means a fitting expert but it looks like the front of the coat is angled up when it should be quite level with the ground. I think it needs more front balance to solve this.
It’s looking like a great start. I don’t think I can add anything of value though as I don’t have the experience.
Over to the experts.....
