Hi there,
Is the pictured wrinkling on the undersleeve a fact of life, or can it be adjusted? I wondered if it would work to pick up the undersleeve a bit or something.
I don't *think* it's a pitch problem, as the pitch looks ok otherwise.
Sorry it's a selfie!
I've taken in the seam on the double i.e. basted it further back from the edge. Is this 'cheating' i.e. will this have unintended, bad consequences? At first glance it looks kinda better...
(Left sleeve, foreground is mirrored while back is mirrored twice!)
And from the side:
If I understand @Rory Duffy correctly, the issue lies in the area between top of the sleeve cap, along the back seam down to the underarm seam. (Sometimes I have to repeat what someone else wrote, so I can process it completely - please bear with me) Looking at the pictures, it's actually what I was thinking too : Either too much "length" from the top of the shoulder seam, down to the side seam and / or to much length from top of sleeve cap down to underarm seam: It looks squashed there, as if there's way too much fabric.
Just out of the blue, the pro's definitely should correct me, if I am wrong - but is this something that might happen, if I adjust back / front balance, for instance? If I'd take 1/2" from the back, the armhole gets smaller. If I don't correct that, but still try to base in a "standard" sleeve - is that what could happen?
(Please ignore the back hem, it needs lengthening!)
Sorry! Is this better?
Here's a picture of the sleeve taken with my hand inside the shoulder:
And from the back, it's looking quite messy but doesn't look so bad when it's on:
I'll try to take a picture from the back of me wearing it too
You may try and post that pic again. I don’t see it. It’s the back run that causes this issue. It should be a smooth run from cap to under sleeve. It’s a bit tricky when you don’t know what you’re looking for. I’ll try and put a diagram together
