Hi Rory and HTAs
Here are the images of my first HTA Coat completed. I'm very happy with it despite some minor issues. I have to work on breast pockets as i found this hard to sew and not as clean as I would like, I had about five "first fittings" and though it is a lot better now I've still got a few under arm wrinkles, I remade the sleeves once and refitted them three times and still got some wrinkles over the crown, and i got cut out the front facing from the pattern immediately and so it ended up a little skinny resulting in an extension to the lining (which worked out quite well in the end!)
As Rory says in the last of the video set, every item has problems - just wear it!! So here are the photos
Thanks Rory for the video course. Onto the next one...
Ken
Hey Ken,
Great first effort, wear it with pride.
I like the detail of the lining and then paired with the last button
There will always be small issues with bespoke garments. If you wait for it to be perfect, you'll wear nothing.
Nice job, Ken! I love that "there will always be problems, wear it anyway". I still wear one of the first dresses I made–even thbough it is far from perfect–but I love wearing it because I made it!
