Hi Rory, Somehow I'd completely missed that the zoom calls were even happening! I'm happy to be a guinea pig. Would you like the measures taken at the time that go with those pictures, or new measures and new pictures? My physique has changed somewhat in the last two years, since having a child. As well as my belly being slightly fuller, so are my upper chest and shoulders, from carrying/throwing around an increasingly heavy infant. All the best, Kwan

Hi John, Not long after my original post, I moved into a house that needed/needs renovation and had a child. So, alas, while I have got plans to arrive at a solution, I haven't had much in the way of time to do anything about them. Thank you for the suggestions though. @martinkuester71 those trousers look fantastic! I'm still very much a beginner, but I'd love to have a go at making some trousers like that. I'm intrigued by the waistband on the undersides. I notice that it's grown on and you are using what looks like canvas and maybe some twill tape. Is this the same in the top sides? Can you give any details on the materials and the approach you take with that? Is it any particular kind of canvas? Also, I notice that it doesn't seem to extend into the inlay of the seat seam. Do you just make a new one from scratch if the trousers need altering? What are the considerations you need to account for in the side seams? Sorry if I'm asking too many questions. It's just all so fascinating 😅

Kenton trimmings are a great resource. I think they've had to downsize a bit following the pandemic, but I've had great interactions with them, very helpful.

If you find the time to give it a go and feel inclined to do so, I would be very grateful. I had a look in an old fitting book, and it said that people with my body type are the most challenging to draft and cut for, and I got a bit disheartened by that. So, any help you can offer would be very welcome. p.s. I hope you are recovering well from the Covid.

@Rory Duffy that would be wonderful! As soon as I have someone to help I will share some up to date measurements. On the one hand I'm sorry for being so awkwardly built, on the other I hope it's at least an interesting challenge for you to sink your teeth into.

@Rory Duffy thanks for getting back to me. Just to be clear, my waist is 37 inches, not 47, so that's more of a 16 inch drop, unless I'm misunderstanding the concept.

And, I've just noticed that I'm slightly too tall for my height to appear on the head units table... 76 3/8" I promise, I'm not trying to be difficult. All of this is why I got into making clothes in the first place. No one makes clothes that fit me. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

The other thing to add, is that my limbs are disproportionately long for my height (for example, my arm span is 6' 9"), or conversely, my torso is short for my height. So, is there a systematic way to adjust if the head units aren't quite right?

I have a 16" drop, so I would very much like to see that.

Following on from the conversation about account type. I phoned them and got an immediate response (as you said I would [thanks for the suggestion]). In case anyone asks again, for someone following along with the video series and not currently working in the industry, they suggested the "student" account type. Regarding the trimming packages. Have you had any response? Right now I'm trying to decide whether to suck it up and just add some extra waistband stiffener to my basket. I haven't started following along with either of the coat making courses yet, so I don't know if there's anything missing from those packs.
