VISA information

Please read this information and resources thoroughly before contacting
the hta regarding your application

Do I need a VISA?

You do not need a visa to land in Ireland if you:

  • Are a citizen of the EU or the EEA (the EU plus Iceland, Norway and Lichtenstein) or Switzerland

  • Have a residence card issued by an EEA country or Switzerland because you are the family member of an EEA or Swiss citizen living in a country outside of the EEA/Swiss family member’s home country (for example, you live in Germany with your French spouse)

  • Have a UK short-stay visa and qualify for the short-stay visa waiver or the British-Irish Visa Scheme

*Schedule 1 contains a list of countries that DO NOT NEED a visa. If your country is NOT listed, you must apply for a visa before you travel to Ireland*

What if I want to do back-to-back courses?

Students who wish to do more than one course from a VISA-exempt country can do so either by

- Taking no more than two courses a year with 90 days in between visits

- Apply for a VISA extension

If I'm applying for a VISA, what documentation do I need from The HTA to accompany my application?

If you need to apply for a VISA and require documentation from the academy,

please contact admin@handcrafttailor.com with the following information to avoid delays:

- Name as it appears on your passport

- Passport number and your country's citizen number

- The course you desire to take and a brief explanation why and what you will do with the education you receive from The HTA

Other things to be aware of when applying for a VISA

- Your passport's expiry date. It is advised to ensure your passport is within date for the duration of when you wish to visit. If your passport expires within 6 months of application, renew your passport first

- The VISA application process can take a few months. The HTA suggests choosing a course date that gives ample amount of time for your application to be reviewed and corrected if necessary

- To avoid delays and incurring fees with your application, ensure that you have all the correct paperwork with the necessary information.

E.g., the application will ask for banking information - be sure that your name/address/and other information is clearly visible
